Marilyn Manson Releases - One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1

Marilyn Manson has released his long awaited, highly anticipated and perhaps the most important release in his career "One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1"
The album is Marilyn Manson's first since releasing "We Are Chaos" in September 2020, which was released during Covid-19 which meant he was unable to tour or promote the album, this was then followed by a set of false allegations which resulted in him essentially putting his career on hold.
Parts of society and mass media had begun to turn their backs on Marilyn Manson, but he remained confident and truthful and battled his way back with the full support from his wife Lindsay, his friends and the fans.
After a few years of silence and everyone wondering how he was coping personally and when we could see Marilyn Manson return to the world… Marilyn Manson teased on social media that he was working on a new album in late 2023.

As we entered this year in January 2024, on Manson’s birthday to be specific, he blew out his candles and stated "2024 is gonna be our year!" and he was not wrong! Taking everyone by surprise Marilyn Manson announced tour dates across North America, following that a teaser video showcasing new visuals and music was released to announce Nuclear Blast Records had signed him. Marilyn Manson’s return was very imminent.
Three singles were then released prior to announcing the album, and we believe the singles are a perfect selection to launch Marilyn Manson back into the world and where he rightfully belongs!
"As Sick As The Secrets Within" was released on August 2nd and coincided with the North America tour starting. The song documents a very personal and vulnerable side to Marilyn Manson and details him in recovery and his sobriety. The video itself shows him through tremendous torment, a moment in purgatory until re-birthed at the end. This is probably the most intimate look into Marilyn Manson and reflective of one of the biggest changes in his life. We’re really proud of Marilyn Manson and he should be proud of himself also which we believe he is because this shines through all the new videos and music.

The second song to feature as a single was "Raise The Red Flag", following his personal and intimate song showcasing his rebirth he’s now rebuilt and remastered into something ready to fight for his position in the world. This song takes no prisoners, "I don't give a fuck if you say you're sorry" and the fire inside him is burning more than ever. It’s hard hitting and to the point and we can safely say, Manson is back ready to fight which is what we have all been waiting for! He’s been defending his position in the world for decades and he's here again to succeed.

The third single was "Sacrilegious", it's a total rock and pure Marilyn Manson swagger style song. This song is Marilyn Manson back but with massive confidence shining throughout. The video also reflects this with Manson appearing very stylish, very proud and confident, as he should be!

The three hard hitting singles, all showcasing Marilyn Manson in different ways musically, lyrically and visually. Extremely personal songs documenting a very real rebirth, his thirst to fight his corner and his confidence and swagger. A set of statement songs to show he's confidently Marilyn Manson and he's certainly back!
Following the singles he announced the album "One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1" featuring his artwork on the cover which is always nice to see his talent with art and music once again merging into one. New paintings also featured in the video for the lead single.
Marilyn Manson has teamed up with Tyler Bates (The Pale Emperor / Heaven Upside Down) and together have created a very fresh and rejuvenated Marilyn Manson album whilst also retaining and harnessing the classic sounds, feels and emotions that his music is known for. Gil Sharone also provided drums for the album.
What is clear is that Marilyn Manson has taken the last few years to focus on himself, his health and sobriety, his outlook on life and recovery of himself and career.
At a moment fans were wondering where and what Marilyn Manson would do whenever his career would resume… would there be a drastic change? but there’s no fear of him changing, except only for the better! Marilyn Manson returns more stronger than ever both musically and personally.
Unlike the past, Manson has yet to discuss any details in regards to the album and rightfully so, after going through such a traumatic set of years. A moment where most would've been at a loss and a point of unknown, Manson comes back strong and this album speaks volumes.

The album ends on a very somber song with lyrics which sound like a very definite ending… but thankfully the titling of the album as "Chapter 1" it’s safe to assume a "Chapter 2" will continue onwards and hopefully at a point soon in the near future. For now we're enjoying chapter 1 and playing it loud! and on repeat!
